Candlelit reading

The Earth Hour experience was interesting. nearly gave up the will to stay in candlelit environment because of the growing boredom. i can't survive without internet i guess. that one hour switch off however did make me realise that i take too many things for granted.
i never realised how bright the fridge light was until i opened the fridge door in darkness.
i never realised how silent my house could be with all the appliances switched off.
i never realised how beautiful my house could be with just few candles.

Earth Hour

Earth Hour needs no introduction. Began in Australia in 2007, it has become a global effort in addressing climate change issues. I will take part for the first time this year. All electrical mains in my house will be switched off in less than an hour. No computer, no internet, no TV. only candles. there's still time to join and if anyone happens to read my blog and you would like to join this global event, please click on the widget on the top right corner.

After 60 minutes, essential lightings will be switched back on and i will spend the whole night tonight without electronic entertainment which has always been part of my daily life.

Paradise

i called the insurance company and they said they will cancel my policy and i will receive the cheque in the post within 7 working days. still waiting for it and getting more worried.

piping hot 'melt in the middle' chocolate pudding + extra smooth vanilla ice cream = paradise

Scammed

I just realised that i might got scammed by an insurance company. I have had my mobile covered by this company for 3 years but never suspected anything wrong until recently when they called me to renew my policy. because i was not at home, i asked them to call back but they didn’t. instead they took money straight from my account without my authorisation. Damn!!!!!

googled the company and found out lots of people fell victim as well. going to call the company tomorrow to try to cancel my policy and get a full refund. i’m broke.

Kinda Best Man

Just got back from a wedding reception. was asked to be the best man at the registration ceremony whose only job was to turn up, sit beside the groom and pass the rings when asked to do so. that’s it.  agreed to do it as i’d never done it before. quite pleased with the experience.

the party was absolutely boring for me even though i dare to say i was the best dressed man in the crowd. yes i do. everyone else looked horrendous. i nearly felt asleep while trying to maintain my classy attitude. fuhh… someone got so drunk i had to put him into bed. i could strip him naked and put him on the bench of a bus stop without him noticing.

getting more and more annoyed by a man in his fifties.

Lifespan

I said that i will keep this blog as long as i possibly can. Well i’m still on the fence on this matter because initially i only wanted to keep this blog going as far as my current laptop life allows it. i started this blog the day after i purchased my new laptop. i wanted it to chronicle my laptop’s life and what it would contribute to my rather uninteresting life. since my previous one lasted for nearly 4 years before it died slowly of chronic disease, i reckon this blog will have a long way to go.

wondering who will be the first person, if any, to read my blog.

1st

this is my third blog. well i never seem to manage to maintain previous ones but i will try my utmost to keep this going as long as possible.

these few days have been a rollercoaster ride for me. here's the story - i joined a gym 2 weeks ago and i had a fitness test which i'd never done before. i thought everything was going to be just fine until the instructor measured my blood pressure and heart rate. he said he was shocked to see my resting state heart rate as it was unusually high for someone my age. he recommended me to see my doctor immediately as he suspected i might have problems with my heart. what? heart attack? are you joking? i was absolutely surprised and terrified. what's going on here? i'm so young and i have such a long road to go. i don't want to end here.

fast forward 2 days, i walked out from my doctor's with a smile as wide as the horizon. doctor said my heart is completely normal and everything is absolutely fine. i have nothing to worry and i can work out as tough as i want. she said gym staff are complete rats and they have zero medical knowledge and they always exaggerate their clients' fitness level as they worry about the gym insurance cost.

another bloody exciting episode. i really thought either i would go under the knife to have some sort of device placed in my heart and be on medicine for years or die at a very young age.

my doctor was furious to learn the ordeal the gym staff put me through and now she will ask them to pay for my appointment. lol. they deserve it.
